The Tunnel

Home of the teacup race.

The teacups here don't just go in a circle. The track is a winding circuit that pinches to a waist in the middle, and every lap is a choice of lines — which is why it's a race, and why nobody runs it the same way twice.

At the waist the track dives underground, into the tunnel the land is named for: a stone mouth crowned with lattice and pennants, and a passage that swallows every cup twice a lap. The path runs right over the top of it. Stand there and the race disappears beneath your feet, and comes out the other side a little faster than it went in.

Race a cup. Then stand over the tunnel and watch someone else find a better line than yours.

One ticket at the gate — inside, everything is free. That's the whole idea.
